I’ve been meditating on the concept of “idle words” (Matthew 12:36).
Strong’s Definitions indicate that in the Greek the word idle (argos) means inactive, unemployed, useless, and barren. A lot of translations use “careless” instead of idle, but that just doesn’t hit the same as inactive, unemployed, useless, and barren.
There is SO much public communication coming from Christians/Kingdom citizens right now that is IDLE and I think it’s something as individuals we need to consider before releasing our words (in written or oral form).
For me, the Holy Spirit has been helping me to figure out WHAT words to use, WHERE to use them, and WHO to direct them to.
Words can be “idle” when they are communicated in the wrong way, in the wrong place, to the wrong people.
Words can be “idle” when you’re making noise about something that you have no personal authority or influence over…or maybe you do, yet you have no intent to engage yourself as a solution.
